Report: Everton almost swapped Lucas Digne for Adrien Rabiot, Juventus rejected offer
Everton reportedly missed out on signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, with Juventus rejecting the offer of Lucas Digne in exchange.
According to , the Toffees approached the Italian giants with the proposal, with Rabiot – at the time – being out of favour for the Turin club.

Rabiot, who earns a whopping £225k-a-week at Juve, has since got himself firmly back into contention under Andrea Pirlo and is now seen as a key midfielder for the team. Indeed, Pirlo was said to be the reason Juve rejected the Digne swap offer.
Everton, of course, have done well without signing Rabiot, with Digne a key figure. The French full-back has become one of the most reliable in the Premier League and has played a key role in the Toffees’ good start to the season.

Things could have looked a lot different though, it seems, had Juventus budged on their thinking over Rabiot.

Looking at Digne now, it makes you wonder why Everton would have considered letting one of the league’s top left-backs go.
The Toffees star is brilliant in his position and a huge threat on set-pieces. Rabiot, of course, is a fine player but with the signings of Doucoure, Allan, and James Rodriguez, it looks like Everton did the better piece of business in the end here.
