Report: ‘Electric’ World Cup star now rejects club’s contract offer, after claims Antonio Conte wants him at Tottenham

that World Cup star Rafael Leao has now rejected AC Milan’s first contract offer, after claims Antonio Conte wants him at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs boast a range of brilliant attacking options, with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Richarlison in the squad.

Despite this, Conte was left short before the World Cup after Kane was the only player out of the four to not pick up an injury.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Leao as Conte aims to bolster his attacking options. reports that the north Lononders are one of the many sides interested in the 23-year-old.

The Portuguese star has just over 18-months left on his current deal with the Rosonerri and in the latest update on his future, it seems he has rejected their first proposal.

Leao rejects contract offer

that Leao and his representatives have refused Milan’s first contract offer.

But the outlet notes that Spurs’ London rivals Chelsea have made the ‘electric’ attacker one of their top targets for the new year, while Milan remain confident he will put pen to paper.

Leao has been brilliant for Milan over the past two seasons and helped them to win the Scudetto last time out.

He’s already netted seven times and provided nine assists in just 20 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s men during the current campaign.

The Milan star suffered heartbreak at the World Cup over the weekend as Portugal were surprisingly knocked out by Morocco at the quarter-final stage. But Leao looked impressive and managed to bag two goals in five games in Qatar.

reports that Spurs will now be in the market for ‘quality’ Kulusevski cover in January. Leao certainly seems like a player that could provide more than just covering for one of Tottenham’s stars though. 

The Portugal attacker would be a brilliant signing for Spurs but if he doesn’t renew his deal with Milan, he’s likely to attract a lot of interest from top clubs around Europe.
