Report details Leeds transfer blow as David Moyes makes West Ham decision
that David Moyes has chosen to hand West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen the chance to shine at the London Stadium next season – which could prove to be a blow for Leeds United.
Cullen, 23, is currently starring for Lee Bowyer’s Chartlon Athletic in the Championship. The Ireland international has clocked up 25 appearances for the Addicks this season, after spending last season on loan at The Valley.
Indeed, Cullen only missed the other 12 games due to an ankle injury. It has attracted the interest of Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are rivalling Norwich City, West Brom and Bournemouth for the midfielder.
But the latest report states Moyes wants to give Cullen a chance at West Ham. Of his nine senior appearances for the Hammers, five came under Moyes in the Scot’s first spell as West Ham manager – including Cullen’s Premier League debut.

The Hammers need depth in the middle of the park. Mark Noble and Declan Rice were joined by Tomas Soucek in the January window, but they still need cover. Jack Wilshere remains on the sidelines, while Carlos Sanchez is simply not good enough.
Cullen would be top-class cover in Moyes’ squad. He is the kind of player that supporters love, due to his hard work and determination. His passionate performances would win fans over, in a similar mould to Noble. Keeping him is key.
