Report: David Luiz set to leave Arsenal after expiration of his contract this summer

David Luiz will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season when his contract expires after the defender announced his intentions during a meeting with the club.

According to widespread reports (first revealed by the ), the center-half held a meeting with the club on Friday in which he announced his intention to leave.

It was also revealed that if the club had attempted to offer the player a new deal, he would’ve such advances in favour of moving on.

Luiz has been in north London since joining from London rivals Chelsea for back in 2019. It proved to be a fairly successful spell with the Brazilian winning the FA Cup in his first season, beating his former club in the final.

However, the second campaign has been less than successful with a string of halting the 34-year-old from starting many games.
