Report: David Luiz and Willian happy at Arsenal despite claims duo want to leave

David Luiz and Willian are both happy at Arsenal, however, the Brazilian defender is assessing his options ahead of a potential move away this summer.

According to recent reports from , the duo were just two of five senior players who were eyeing a move away from the club after their disastrous end to the campaign.

The two, who have 127 international caps between them, have endured differing seasons at the club with Luiz having performed fairly consistently, meanwhile, Willian’s free-kick strike against West Bromwich Albion.

However, are claiming that the two former Chelsea teammates are more than happy in N5 and could stay beyond this term.

The publication also claims that manager Mikel Arteta is planning an overhaul of his first-team squad ahead of next season.

TBR View: Willian is dispensible but not Luiz

Whilst Willian should leave, preferably without letting the door hitting him on the way out, letting the 34-year-old defender walk away on a free transfer is far from sensible business by the Gunners.

Luiz has been a sensational addition to the north London giants backline with his mixture of ability and experience proving to be wonders for the Reds. His experience was on full-show towards the end of last season, when the side beat Manchester City and Chelsea on their way to lifting the FA Cup trophy.

Meanwhile, what more can be said about the winger, who has been disappointing to say the least. His inability to make anything happen in the final third is an ever-increasing worry, especially when you factor in the money the outfit are paying him, a whopping .

And despite Arteta’s best efforts to defend a player, whom he was heavily involved in recruiting, there doesn’t seem to be space in the squad for the ace, especially with all the consistent performers.

all prove to be ahead of the attacker in the pecking order after consistent periods over the last few weeks.

Luiz and Willian have endured differing terms for the club. One has shown his worth and should be retained, whilst the other has barely made a difference despite the club’s huge outlay on him.
