Report: Danny Rose to stay at Tottenham this month amid interest from two clubs

Danny Rose has reportedly decided he’ll be staying with Tottenham beyond the January transfer window.

The defender has a few days remaining to try leave Spurs in search of regular football, as he’s been frozen out of Jose Mourinho’s squad.

He’s not played a single first-team game this season and has played a couple of times with the Under-23s.

, Rose is attracting interest from both Sheffield United and Trabzonspor this month.

His contract at Spurs expires at the end of the season and his time in North London is drawing to an end.

But the report explains that the 29-time capped England international is prepared to remain on the sidelines at Spurs for the next six months and is confident of earning a move next summer.

TBR’s View:

It’s somewhat disappointing that Rose hasn’t got the ambition to get back to playing regular senior football immediately, but at the same time it’s his decision to see out his contract at Spurs and collect his wage.

Aged 30, the left-back should still have some good years ahead of him, even if he’s not quite the same player that was once dynamite for club and country.

The left-footed full-back was an integral player during the Mauricio Pochettino reign, but his stock has fallen significantly in the past couple of years since Spurs lost in a Champions League final.
