Report: Tottenham man to make Premier League switch

Tottenham defender Danny Rose is set to sign for Premier League newcomers Watford, according to a report from .

Rose’s contract expires at the end of this month and he will be moving on from Spurs after around a decade in North London. The left-back spent time on loan with Newcastle previously. But since then, he’s been firmly in the under-23 set-up with Spurs.

However, the 30-year-old, who has 29 England caps, looks set to remain in the Premier League. claims Watford want Rose to sign and the player has apparently already agreed to a deal.

The Hornets are preparing for life back in the top flight after bouncing back immediately under Xisco Munoz. Rose will bring experience and top level quality to the ranks for Watford.

Despite falling down the Spurs pecking order, Rose is still a recognised international. He was vital under Mauricio Pochettino and was a key player as Spurs made the Champions League final.

Rose, then, will be hoping for a fresh start and to rediscover that sort of form at Vicarage Road next term.

Danny Rose to Watford is a great early signing for the newcomers

As long as Rose gets his head down and works hard, then this is a fine piece of business for Watford. You don’t come across experienced England internationals on a free very often.

For Rose, it’s a chance at a fresh start. It’s been a frustrating time at Spurs lately but if he has the hunger, he can succeed again.

Watford will need players like Rose to enable them to compete. It’s hard coming up from the Championship. However, they also need to be conscious of flooding the ranks with new blood.

Additions like Rose, plus a few tweaks here and there should be enough for the Hornets to have a good go at it.
