Daniel James is a more realistic target for Tottenham Hotspur than James Maddison in the final days of the summer transfer window, .
Spurs fans may have been taken aback this week. Reports claimed that they were admirers of the Leeds United star.
James has not had the best time at Elland Road. He spent much of his first campaign with the Whites being played out of position. And with that, he struggled to live up to expectations.
Nevertheless, Tottenham are monitoring the Wales international. But he is not the only name on their radar.
that there is interest in Maddison and Anthony Gordon. However, Gordon looks most likely to join Chelsea. Meanwhile, the links with the Leicester talisman have been played down in North London.
And with that, James is deemed to be the more realistic target for Spurs.

The suggestion that James may be the most likely to end up at Spurs may not sit well with supporters. Admittedly, many will probably be relieved that they are not looking to pay .
But Maddison has started the season in brilliant form once again. He was sensational for Leicester last year.
James meanwhile, was probably the least impressive of Leeds’ attacking quartet in their superb 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday. In fairness, he was still quietly excellent.
The 24-year-old will surely be the cheapest option. . And the Whites will do well to make much of a profit.
There is a lot more to come from James. He had to fill in up front for a lot of last season. And he has the potential to be a ‘‘ player.
Much may depend on Leeds’ asking price. But a deal would have the potential to be a real gamble.
