that the Whites have bid to take James on loan. However, the winger has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he would like to stay.

Interestingly however, Sky Sports adds that James’s future could be reassessed before the window closes should Manchester United secure the signings that they want.

TBR View: James on loan could be a shrewd move for Leeds

Leeds have space to sign one more player on loan from a Premier League club. Of course, a loan move is not ideal if the club do not have scope to make the deal permanent further down the line.

However, James could be a very good signing if there is a chance for a loan deal. He now has a year in the top flight under his belt. And he showed glimpses of his quality during that year at the highest level.

Leeds would be wise to look elsewhere in case Manchester United’s stance does not change. But if they have no luck, and their rivals decide they are willing to sanction a move, it could be an excellent way to round off the window for the Whites.
