Report: Crystal Palace want to sign Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso
According to , Crystal Palace are keen on signing Chelsea and Spain defender, Marcos Alonso.
The Eagles could be in the market for a new defender with youngster Tyrick Mitchell taking up the mantle this term, while Patrick Van Aahnholt is still working his way back from injury.

Alonso, 29, has found himself down the pecking order somewhat at Chelsea under Frank Lampard. The Blues brought in Ben Chilwell in the summer, with three-cap Spaniard Alonso only making three appearances this term.
And now, the claim that Palace could move for Alonso either in January or the summer, with Roy Hodgson mindful that the aforementioned Van Aanholt could leave for nothing in June.

Alonso is a seasoned Premier League player. He’s made over 140 appearances in the top-flight and scored a very healthy 20 goals, contributing 16 assists in that time, too.

Getting an experienced Premier League defender who would be able to come straight in and contribute with the quality of Alonso would be a massive coup for Palace.
Alonso has been an excellent player for Chelsea but has just seen things dip away a little bit in recent times.
But, he still has plenty to offer and Palace would surely offer him that chance to reignite his career a tad.
