Report: Crystal Palace join Arsenal in race for Celtic strier Odsonne Edouard

that Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer but face big competition for the striker in the form of Arsenal and other French sides.

Edouard, 22, has been in absolutely stunning form for Scottish champions Celtic this season – netting a whopping 27 goals in 42 appearances but also producing an enormous 19 assists, showing he is just not about scoring goals.

Neil Lennon has previously stated during an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live that he wants to extend Edouard’s contract by another year. However, this summer promises to be an intruguing one for the France under-21 star.

Indeed, the report claims both Lyon and Monaco are keeping tabs on Edouard – who was signed for around £9million from PSG by Brendan Rodgers. However, Palace and Arsenal are both suggested as options, if he wants a move to the Premier League.

TBR’s view – A top signing for Palace, but has he outgrown them?

Despite remaining at Celtic, Edouard has surely become too big for even the likes of Palace. Because of his goals in the Europa League, his age, value and the clubs that he is being linked with, Palace have little chance of landing the French star.

Arsenal certainly have a much better opportunity to land the striker and if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departs – as well as Alexandre Lacazette – then there is no reason why Arsenal cannot convince Edouard to join Kieran Tierney at the Emirates.

Back in February, Chris Sutton claimed Edouard was the “closest thing I’ve seen to [Henrik] Larsson,” . But for Palace, Edouard seems to have already outgrown them.
