Report: Crystal Palace and West Brom join Aston Villa in Ismaila Sarr hunt

Aston Villa have reportedly been joined in the race to sign Ismaila Sarr by Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.

, the 22-year-old has emerged as a target for Roy Hodgson’s Eagles and Slaven Bilic’s Baggies.

Sarr looks set to leave Watford this window, having really impressed in his first season with the club.

The star made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Hornets in 2019/20 and scored six goals. He also contributed six assists.

Sarr, who joined the club from Rennes for a reported £25 million, has not yet featured for Watford in the new season, suggesting his future does indeed lie elsewhere.

Where he ends up though remains to be seen, with at least three Premier League clubs now battling it out for his signature.

With the transfer window closing on October 5, time is fast funning out for clubs to do business.

If Aston Villa are serious about Sarr then they better get a move on.

Palace’s interest is intriguing and could perhaps mean they expect to lose Wilfried Zaha.

It is understandable that Sarr is sought after – he is too good to be playing in the Championship and should get a Premier League move.

Villa have the means to blow Palace and Albion out of the water, and get themselves a player who could catapult them towards mid-table.
