Report: Coventry City to beat rivals Leicester City to signing of Cheltenham’s Aaron Evans-Harriott
Coventry City are set to beat Leicester City to the signing of Aaron Evans-Harriott.
, Coventry are close to completing the signing of Cheltenham Town teen Evans-Harriott. He is highly-rated by Cheltenham but Coventry will hope to wrap this up in January.
Premier League side Leicester, who have a Midlands rivalry with Coventry, have also been pursuing Evans-Harriott. Championship strugglers Barnsley are another side keeping their tabs on the midfielder.

But Coventry, who are flying high in League One, look set to sign the 17-year-old. The Sky Blues are currently in the play-offs and Mark Robins is hoping to lead the former Premier League club to the Championship.
Evans-Harriott would bolster his options, although he might not be an immediate first-team player. The teenager made his debut earlier this season with a five-minute cameo against West Ham U21s in the EFL Trophy. This made him Cheltenham’s youngest player in the Football League era.
TBR’s view
Coventry is an exciting step for Evans-Harriott as he continues his development. You just have to look at the West Midlands club’s record of promoting youth to see why this is a good move.
Callum Wilson, James Maddison, Cyrus Christie and Tom Bayliss are four recent success stories from the Coventry academy. In the current first-team, Jordan Shipley is a regular while recently-signed youngsters like Zain Westbrooke and Sam McCallum are shining.
Evans-Harriott could be the next starlet to make his name in the Coventry team.
