Report: Conte relationship with Tottenham ace strained, Italian ‘unconvinced’
that the relationship between Antonio Conte and Steven Bergwijn has become ‘strained’, with the Tottenham gaffer ‘unconvinced’ by the Netherlands international amid Ajax interest.
Bergwijn, 24, is struggling for game time at Tottenham. The Netherlands ace has been afforded less than 500 minutes of football this season, last starting in the Premier League back in August.
Conte has identified his front three – Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Lucas Moura. Bergwijn has failed to have a real impact since joining the club under Jose Mourinho – scoring just four goals in 62 games.
ESPN report that ex-Chelsea and Inter boss Conte is ‘unconvinced’ by Bergwijn. The relationship between the two is said to be strained, and that Bergwijn could go to Ajax either on loan, or permanently.

Conte and Bergwijn relationship: Tottenham player needs to move
The initial issue over a lack of game time can be overcome, if Bergwijn shows plenty of promise in training and in the Cup competitions. But the problem has become extenuated since Conte arrived.
For the two’s relationship to be strained, then Bergwijn is facing a difficult road to get back to his best – and show the potential that many had expected from him when he joined.
If Conte is ‘unconvinced’, then he needs to push for a January move. If Spurs receive an offer in the region of £15million to £20million, Daniel Levy should sanction his exit.
