Report: Conte now wants Tottenham to offload ‘perfect’ 24-year-old
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte wants to offload Joe Rodon during the final days of the January transfer window, .
Rodon has endured a hugely frustrating season in North London. His only Premier League appearance came in the 3-0 loss away at Crystal Palace under Nuno Espírito Santo.

He has been an unused substitute for Spurs’ last seven top-flight fixtures. So it is probably no surprise that he has been linked with a move away this month.
It has been claimed that the likes of Newcastle and Leeds want the centre-back. However, with the deadline edging closer, some may have assumed that Tottenham were set to keep Rodon.

But that may not be the case. that Conte wants to move him on, along with Matt Doherty, Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombélé and Dele Alli.
Admittedly, it is not clear whether Tottenham would prefer to sell or loan Rodon out. But the use of the word ‘offload’, coupled with the other players also mentioned, would perhaps suggest that Conte is keen to sell the Wales international permanently.
Rodon needs to leave Tottenham before development stagnates
It has been a disappointing spell for Rodon. He has looked a class act whenever he has played for Wales. And yet, he has simply not been given enough chances at Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho previously labelled him a ‘‘ player. But he has struggled to kick on. And at 24, he is not exactly a young player needing to gain experience.
He is someone who will want to play regularly as his peak approaches. And it does not appear that Conte is planning to hand him the kind of minutes he is looking for.
Whether Tottenham attract any permanent bids for Rodon remains to be seen. Certainly, you would imagine that there would be a few sides keen on a loan deal before the deadline passes.
