Report: Clubs set sights on £36k-a-week Leeds speedster, he’s still got three years left on deal

Leeds United speedster Helder Costa is reportedly attracting interest from various clubs in Spain.

According to , there are teams in La Liga that are monitoring the 27-year-old.

It namechecks Valencia as one of the 27-year-old’s potential suitors, but as of now Leeds have not received any formal offers.

Costa, who has three years left on his deal at Elland Road, had a difficult 2020/21 season from an individual perspective.

The left-footed winger is someone with great skill and ability in the final third, so it was surprising to see him struggle for minutes.

He ended up with three goals and three assists in 23 senior appearances across all competitions last season.

Should Leeds sell Helder Costa?

However, the duo need to be pushed.

Costa has shown he understands Marcelo Bielsa’s philosophy with his energy and pressing, but he lacked the final quality at Premier League level last year.

The Portugal international should be kept for another season unless Valencia make contact with an attractive offer. For example, it’s got to be close towards the the Yorkshire club forked out for him.
