Report: Club waiting for Liverpool to sign their midfielder, Neco Williams’ national teammate

Juventus are waiting for Liverpool to sign Aaron Ramsey, with the Old Lady hoping that Jurgen Klopp’s admiration tempts him to move.

Ramsey, 30, is out of contract at Juventus in June 2023 – but it is clear that the Italians want him gone now. His big wages are proving too heavy.

That is, especially, with the ex-Arsenal man failing to prove why he deserves such big wages. Since joining Juventus in 2019, he has played 70 times.

But this season, his game time has dramatically reduced under Max Allegri. This season, he has failed to play a single league game since September.

Indeed, only three Serie A appearances have come Ramsey’s way – starting the opening game against Udinese and then two sub appearances after.

January could see Ramsey leave Liverpool – a potential loan deal. ESPN say Juve want Liverpool to sign him, with Klopp said to be an admirer.

Ramsey to Liverpool: Could Welshman go to Anfield in January?

Liverpool could do with another option in the middle of the park. Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot remain on the sidelines with injury.

Not only that, but Naby Keita is about to jet off for the African Cup of Nations – and represent Mali. He joins Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino could cover those two, but that further reduces the options in midfield.

So, bringing in Ramsey under the pretence that he will be a rotation player makes sense. But he will have to take a big pay cut.
