According to , Barcelona are preparing for Neto’s potential switch to Arsenal by lining up moves for Jordi Masip and Aitor Fernandez.

What’s the story?

Well, the Brazilian shot-stopper looks set to leave the Camp Nou.

Neto was keen to join Arsenal in the January transfer window, but Ronald Koeman refused to sanction his exit in fear of weakening the goalkeeping department.

the Gunners, so Barcelona have began to identify some replacements.

believe Masip, who plays for Real Valladolid, and Fernandez, who plays for Levante, are the ones being targeted.

Barcelona are in desperate need of money.

As a result, claim they will sell Neto if he receives an offer, as the Spanish giants prioritise sales.

A fee isn’t mentioned in the article. However, Barcelona paid (£30m) to sign him, so you would presume they’d like most of that back.

Do Arsenal need Neto?

In our view, Arsenal don’t need Neto.

Mikel Arteta already has Bernd Leno to call upon, and there are better options out there to deputise for the German.

One of those is Andre Onana, who we believe should be Arsenal’s No.1 target if the Gunners are set on signing a new goalkeeper.

Ajax only want for the Cameroon international, as he has just one year remaining on his contract.

For a glovesman with Champions League experience, and for such a small fee, Arsenal would be foolish not to take him instead.
