Report: Club plan to release player signed from Arsenal this summer

Barcelona plan to release Hector Bellerin next summer, that the standard of performance from the defender has been much lower than expected since his arrival from Arsenal.

Bellerin left the Gunners on a free transfer right at the end of the summer window. It had been apparent for some time that his days at the Emirates were done. He, of course, spent last season on loan with Real Betis.

His departure paved the way for the right-back to join Barca. And he played three games in La Liga following his switch. Unfortunately, it appears that he has already fallen out of favour in Catalonia.

Reports from this week claimed that Roma want to take Bellerin on loan in January. And it seems that Barca are unlikely to stand in the 27-year-old’s way should an acceptable bid arrive.

, Barcelona have been left disappointed with Bellerin since his move. And, as things stand, they are not planning to renew his contract, which expires in the summer.

They do not think that the move was a mistake due to the low costs involved. But it seems that Bellerin is going to become a free agent again in the summer.

Bellerin does have time to prove himself. Players have fought back from the brink at Camp Nou over the years. And he remains a very capable player.

Having said that, Bellerin may not mind leaving if he is not going to play. He should be at the peak of his powers, given his age and experience. And he will not want to watch this time drift away from him.

He may not be an Arsenal player any longer. But supporters may well have one eye on where he heads next if he is indeed set to leave Barca.
