Report: Club outlines transfer stance for Arsenal and Spurs-linked £13.5m defensive colossus
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Kim Min-jae but it doesn’t look as though he’ll be heading to North London if a new report by is anything to go by.
Portuguese outlet claimed last month that the 23-year-old centre-back’s displays for Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan have attracted interest from the Gunners.
, meanwhile, claimed earlier this week that Tottenham are understood to have made “serious enquiries” with Kim and his club regarding a potential move.

Kim rose to prominence with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the South Korean top flight, winning the league in 2017 and 2018 and being named in the division’s team of the season on both occasions.
According a June report in , the £13.5million-valued South Korea international wants to play in England, with Everton, RB Leipzig, Lazio, Porto and PSV Eindhoven also reportedly in the hunt.
has now claimed that Beijing Guoan have told Kim – who returned late to China from his native country ahead of the Chinese Super League (CSL) restart – that they do not want to sanction a sale.
However, the outlet added that they’ve been told it will take a big offer for Guoan to consider a sale later this summer.

Nicknamed “The Monster” due to his height and physicality, Kim has been described as the “Korean Van Dijk” in the past () and “one of the best centre-backs South Korea has produced in the 21st century” by Sungmo Lee of Goal Korea, speaking to .
Understandably, Beijing Guoan don’t seem to want to let him go so easily, and the Chinese Super League is one of the few worldwide that could withstand the financial muscle of Premier League clubs trying to swoop in on their players, so Arsenal and Spurs might need to go back to the drawing board.
