Report: Club finds replacement for ‘incredible’ attacker who’s looking to join Arsenal in January

Arsenal have been heavily linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk in recent months.

There was talk of the Gunners swooping for the Shakhtar Donetsk star in the summer transfer window.

And even though a move didn’t materialise, Mudryk has made no secret of how much he likes Arsenal.

This week, Shakhtar vice sporting director Carlo Nicolini has admitted that Arsenal want to sign the Ukraine international.

As quoted by , Nicolini said: “Mudryk has received the message that he needs to be present at the restart of training in Antalya.

“Arsenal is a club interested, I can’t deny it.”

Now, it looks as though Shakhtar have identified a replacement for the Ukraine international.

The 22-year-old apparently has a €8m (£7m) price tag.

If the report is true, then every party would be a winner if this transfer saga reaches the intended conclusion.

Arsenal would be landing themselves a top talent who in turn seems really eager to play for the Gunners.

And Shakhtar would be selling a player for a huge sum – reports have suggested £50m plus – and finding a good replacement for about a seventh of the price.

Arsenal fans won’t be unfamiliar with long, drawn-out transfer sagas. There have been plenty over the years.

But unlike many of those that seem to revolve around reports, this one involves the player and club figures making public admissions.

With this in mind, it really looks as though Arsenal have a great chance of landing the ‘incredible’ player.
