Report: Club expecting Arsenal to bid for their £40m midfielder in January, they’ve been watching him for ages
Leicester City are now braced for Arsenal to make a bid for Youri Tielemans when the January transfer window opens.
Tielemans has been linked with Arsenal for a long time going back to before the summer transfer window, but a move did not materalise then.
Instead, the Gunners made a shock midfield swoop for Fabio Vieira, and left their pursuit of a more orthodox central midfielder until very late on in the window.
By then, injuries to Mo Elneny and Thomas Partey had forced their hand somewhat and Douglas Luiz was the primary deadline day target.

Leicester braced for Arsenal to bid for Tielemans
Now, with the winter transfer window just weeks away, Leicester are expecting Arsenal to finally make their interest in Tielemans formal and serious with a bid.
The report that the Belgian international cost Leicester £40 million and they would hope to raise £20 million by selling him next month.
That is because his contract expires at the end of the season and he has so far not shown any inclination to sign a new one.
Arsenal also have their eye on a new winger and need to deal with the situation which has seen Gabriel Jesus pick up a serious injury during the World Cup which will require surgery.
So it remains to be seen if they do actually come through seriously and bid for Tielemans, who is free to discuss a summer move abroad as a free agent from January 1.
Arsenal sit top of the Premier League and their fans will be looking for a January signing or two to keep the momentum going.
