Report: Club chief tells Tottenham to pay £34m for ‘outstanding’ rumoured target wanted by PL rival

Max Eberl has told that Borussia Monchengladbach would be willing to listen to offers for Jonas Hofmann this summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.

The Bundesliga outfit do not want to lose the 28-year-old. But they are aware they cannot rule out a deal in the current environment brought on by the pandemic.

Hofmann has emerged as a summer transfer target for Tottenham plus their London and Premier League rivals Chelsea, per . The German enters the summer following his best season at Borussia-Park, and a move to England is possible.

Spurs’ scouts watched Hofmann in action numerous times last term as he developed into a key player under Marco Rose. The winger also has interest from La Liga, after scoring nine times and offering 13 assists in .

But as there is not a release clause in Hofmann’s contract, Ebrel will demand a big sum to sell.

“We live in a time when you can’t rule anything out,” Monchengladbach Sporting Director Eberl . “We certainly don’t want to sell Jonas. But if at some point a club is offering €40million (£34m) for Jonas, we can’t say we’re not interested.”

Hofmann is under contract at Borussia-Park on an extension penned in 2019, three years after joining from Borussia Dortmund.
