Report claims Wolves are planning fresh move for Spurs man

Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning to make a fresh move for Carlos Vinicius having previously attempted to sign the Tottenham Hotspur loanee once before, .

It has been a tough season for Vinicius in North London. Of course, he would have surely been aware of what he was signing up for when he became teammates with Harry Kane.

However, he may not have expected to make just three starts in the Premier League this season. Unsurprisingly, it appears that Spurs have their doubts about making the move permanent.

that Tottenham had told Benfica that they would not trigger the £36 million option to keep the 26-year-old.

However, it was noted in that report that Daniel Levy would be prepared to pay £17 million to sign him.

But they are not the only Premier League side seemingly in the running. , Wolves are planning a move.

The report claims that they previously offered £52.1 million (€60 million) for the striker. It is suggested that they are unlikely to offer anything more than £26.1 million (€30 million) this time around.

TBR View: Spurs may be tempted to act if Wolves offer more

With Tottenham already apparently willing to offer £17 million, it will be interesting to see whether Wolves’ reported plans tempt them to increase any offer they plan to make.

They obviously feel that it would be good to keep Vinicius. He has shown glimpses that suggest that he would be one of the better understudies to Kane Tottenham have signed. Mourinho meanwhile, suggested in February that he is a ‘special’ player (via ).

Moving to Molineux may not necessarily appeal to the Brazilian. If Raul Jimenez rediscovers his best form upon his return from injury, Vinicius is unlikely to be first-choice there as well.

But if Wolves are prepared to offer considerably more, Benfica may be much more reluctant to consider Spurs’ proposal.
