Report claims Liverpool have had Enzo Fernandez bid rejected
A report from Portuguese outlet that it is Liverpool who have indeed seen an £88 million bid for Enzo Fernandez rejected by Benfica.
Fernandez is now one of the most highly sought-after prospects in world football. Of course, he played a starring role as Argentina won the World Cup. And he was able to take home the Young Player award following the tournament.

He has a host of teams chasing his signature. Reports from claimed that Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are also admirers of the 21-year-old. But it seems that Liverpool may be leading the charge to bring him to the Premier League.
Liverpool reportedly see Enzo Fernandez bid rejected
In fact, Liverpool have seen a €100 million offer for Fernandez rejected by Benfica.

The report notes that the Portuguese outfit have no intention of accepting a bid for Fernandez. Instead, his admirers will have to trigger his release clause, worth just over £105 million.
It must be noted at this point that there are conflicting reports elsewhere in Portugal. that it is not yet known who made the bid. However, they did claim that Liverpool were not the side to make the offer.
Obviously, the club’s identity may not make a huge difference if Benfica rejected the bid anyway and have no interest in letting him leave for anything less than his release clause.
The reported bid is truly eye-watering. And yet, it is still some way off what Benfica are demanding.
But if Liverpool were not prepared to go big, they would not put themselves in the race – whether it was the Reds who made the reported bid or not.
Lionel Messi suggested that Fernandez is a ‘‘ player. And he is only going to get better in the coming years.
And with Liverpool needing to overhaul their midfield, there will be plenty of supporters hoping that they do ultimately make a bid that Benfica simply cannot turn down.
