that Leeds were one of the sides to have shown interest in taking James on loan.

Interestingly, the report hints that Marcelo Bielsa’s side may decide to make a fresh move next month. It is suggested that James’s situation could hinge on whether Manchester United see £37.2 million signing Amad Diallo receive a work permit.

TBR View: Leeds should pursue James loan if there is scope for permanent move in future

James has not enjoyed the best season so far. The 23-year-old has made three Premier League starts. And he is yet to contribute a league goal or assist for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men this term.

Signing him on loan could however, prove a good piece of business for Leeds. Apart from Raphinha, Bielsa’s wide players have struggled to make much of an impact in recent times.

But a deal would be particularly impressive if any agreement left the door open for a future permanent move.

James has shown that he boasts frightening potential. And Bielsa is clearly a fan of the wide-man having nearly signed him in the past.
