Report claims Huddersfield want Leeds’s Pascal Struijk on loan
Pascal Struijk has become the latest Leeds United player to find himself on Huddersfield Town’s radar this summer, that Carlos Corberan wants to take the Dutchman on loan.
Corberan has been linked with a number of Whites players following his appointment. that Robbie Gotts could join the Championship side on a temporary basis.
Meanwhile, that Kamil Miazek was also on Corberan’s wishlist amid uncertainty over his future with the Championship title-winners.
that Gotts is set to complete a loan move imminently. And it is claimed that Corberan wants Struijk to follow him.
TBR View: Loan exit for Struijk would come as big surprise
In truth, it would be a big surprise to see Struijk go anywhere this summer. He has only made a handful of first-team appearances, but he made a big impact towards the end of last season.
He was outstanding in the final matches of the campaign. The 21-year-old was signed as a centre-back, but stood out in holding midfield.
With Ben White returning to Brighton, and Kalvin Phillips surely set to play in every game in which he is fit and available, keeping Struijk appears to make all the sense in the world.
He is capable of providing cover in both defence and midfield. That will help Marcelo Bielsa maintain the smaller squad that he seemingly prefers to work with.
So while Huddersfield may be interested, it would surely be fair to say that they should expect to be knocked back should they ask about taking Struijk on loan this summer.
