Now, on what some Arsenal officials are thinking about a potential move for the £196,000-a-week player ().

Apparently, there are a few concerns about Boateng’s fitness levels and his lack of game time so far this season.

that the Gunners are mindful of what happened with Denis Suarez last season.

The playmaker joined on loan from Barcelona in the January window, but an injury he had been carrying limited him to just six first-team appearances.

It is understandable if Arsenal’s board are a bit reluctant to go for Boateng after the failure of the Suarez deal a year ago.

It will be important for them to fully understand what kind of condition Boateng is in before making any move for the 6ft 4in German.

If there is any hint of fragility, then perhaps the Gunners ought to look elsewhere.
