Report: Chelsea match PSG bid for Inter Milan star

Chelsea have matched the offer made by PSG for Inter Milan wing-back Achraf Hakimi,

There could also be good news for the Champions League winners in their attempts to sign the highly-rated player.

Inter hold an interest in Chelsea misfit Emerson Palmieri and that could give the Premier League outfit an advantage.

Simeone Inzaghi is also keen on Andreas Christensen and the Blues will hope a deal can be struck.

Inter are keen to take Palmieri on loan, although Chelsea would dearly like a permanent deal.

It is thought that the offer made by the Blues is someway short of Inter’s £68 million asking price.

The interest in the Chelsea duo could, however, help smooth the deal along.

Hakimi is a former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund player with bags of potential.

He scored seven goals and registered 11 assists last season as Inter secured their first Serie A title in many years.

His goal contributions and all-action style of play have really caught the eye and Chelsea will hope to get their man.

Hakimi can play as a wing-back or as a right-back as part of a flat back four.

Thomas Tuchel clearly sees him as ideal for his system and will hope to beat PSG to his signature.

Although the Blues have Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta, it’s fair to say that Hakimi is up there with the best.
