Report: Chelsea make offer for £50m-rated Arsenal-linked striker
Arsenal were linked with a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele just last week as The Gunners look likely to spend in the January transfer window, that Chelsea have made an offer for the Frenchman.
Arsenal were interested in 23-year-old Dembele this month, with the club concerned about the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The latter sees his contract expire in 2021.
However, Chelsea are also said to be after a striker to rival Tammy Abraham. Olivier Giroud is expected to leave the club this month with West Ham and Crystal Palace linked, meanwhile Michy Batshuayi is a reported target for Aston Villa.
Since moving to Lyon from Celtic, France Under-21 international Dembele has scored 30 goals in 71 league and cup appearances for Lyon – as well as adding eight assists. Lyon want as much as £50million for his services.

TBR’s view – Arsenal should sell Lacazette and use cash on Dembele
Aubameyang has shown since the arrival of Mikel Arteta that he is up for the fight, and wants to turn Arsenal back into the force they once were. Lacazette, meanwhile, looks fed up in north London.
The former Lyon striker looks lethargic and is playing without any kind of form or care. Selling him, and bringing in Dembele as his replacement, would be excellent Arsenal business – giving them a top-quality replacement with age on his side.
