Report: Chelsea hatch plan to beat Liverpool to Exeter City starlet Ben Chrisene
Exeter City teenager Ben Chrisene is a man in demand. , Chelsea are battling Liverpool and two others to sign Chrisene from Exeter – despite their transfer ban.
Frank Lampard has invited the 15-year-old to train with the club ahead of a potential move to Stamford Bridge. He hopes that Chelsea can beat Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Southampton to the signing of Chrisene. The youngster has already trained with Liverpool.
The talented teenager plays in midfield and has already made his senior debut. Chrisene was introduced as a late substitute in Exeter’s 4-1 loss against Coventry City in the EFL Cup earlier this season.
Chrisene is seen as the next Ethan Ampadu. Chelsea signed Ampadu from Exeter when he was a teenager and he is now on loan at Red Bull Leipzig. But Chrisene has broken Ampadu’s record and become Exeter’s youngest-ever player. Chelsea now want him to follow in Ampadu’s footsteps with a move to West London.

TBR’s view
Wherever Chrisene goes, he will be one for the future, rather than a first-team player. But the England U15 starlet is highly regarded and there is a genuine belief that he can make it to the top.
Exeter manager Matt Taylor recently said () that “he’s going to play at the top level, it’s as simple as that”. Chelsea and Liverpool will be desperate to win this race.
