Celtic are set to try and sign David Turnbull again for the second summer running after the playmaker failed a Hoops medical in 2019.
Celtic have stepped up their scouting on the Motherwell star just 12 months after their £3.25 million deal fell through.
Boss Neil Lennon sent the first-team coach Gavin Strachan to watch Well against Hibs last weekend to run the rule over the midfield star.
Turnbull will have been gutted to miss out on a move to Celtic Park last summer but it would seem that a deal might still be on the cards again.
The 22-year-old was forced to have surgery on the injured knee that scuppered his medical and has shown no ill-effects so far this term.
He has played in all four of Motherwell’s games, scoring a delightful goal against Livingston earlier this month.
Boss Lennon is perhaps on the lookout for some more creativity and entering the race for Turnbull again seems ideal.
The player who can operate in the middle of the park or as a left midfielder has claimed 16 assists from his 40 first-team appearances for the club.
It is thought that Lennon could pounce before other clubs choose to do so with Turnbull now over his fitness worries.

One of the great positives of landing the Scottish performer is that he will need no introduction to the SPL.
Players who come from other countries often need a settling in period but that wouldn’t apply to Turnbull.
If Celtic can strike a £3.25 million deal and complete the deal, it could prove a very shrewd business for the Hoops.
Turnbull boasts an array of passing and is extremely forward-thinking. Around far better players at Celtic, he could thrive and continue improving with each game.
