Report: Celtic want 22-year-old West Ham flyer; Everton and Newcastle also keen

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are monitoring West Ham United youngster Grady Diangana,

The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form during a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion this season, helping the club to the brink of promotion to the Premier League.

Flamboyant winger Diangana has scored seven goals and registered six assists for the Baggies this season.

A lack of opportunities at the London Stadium could see him seek another move and Celtic boss Neil Lennon is thought to be an admirer.

The Hoops have sent scouts to watch Diangana and the club are thought to be impressed with his performances.

West Brom are in the equation too, although West Ham’s asking price of might put a few clubs off.

Everton and Newcastle are also watching the youngster, along with Dutch giants Ajax.

Diangana does have 21 Hammers appearances under his belt, making his last outing in a 3-0 win over Southampton in April 2019.

Celtic will be looking to bolster their squad ahead of an assault on their tenth league title in succession.

If the reported valuation is correct, they might need to offload one of their star players first with Diangana lined up as a replacement.

TBR View – Diangana would be a huge coup for Celtic

It has to be said that if Neil Lennon could pull off this signing it would be a massive statement of intent to their rivals.

The man with one cap for the England under-21 team has been stunning for West Brom and it’s little surprise there is a queue assembling for his services.

Lennon is blessed with some solid players in his squad but it’s fair to say Celtic do lack an element of width.

If a deal can be struck Diangana could be the perfect player for the Hoops in their quest for title number 10 in a row.
