Report: Celtic value ‘terrific’ European prospect at £3.4m; club want ‘about double’ for him
Celtic will have to cough up almost double what they are preparing to offer Bologna for Scottish defender Aaron Hickey.
According to Resto del Carlino , Ange Postecoglou’s side value the 19-year-old defender at €4m (£3.4m).

However, the Serie A side want ‘about double’ for Hickey, who only joined the club a year ago from Hearts. Bologna paid a reported £1.5m for the fullback .
The defender has had a mixed spell in Italy since making the move 12 months ago. Hickey has 12 appearances in all competitions for Bologna. However, the Emilia-Romagna-based club seem to be open to cashing in on the Scottish youngster.

As per the Resto del Carlino report, Celtic are interested in the teenager, as well as Fiorentina. Hickey is one of Scotland’s most exciting youth prospects, with the defender as ‘terrific’ in their Next Generation series for 2019.
The Hoops need a left-back this summer with Diego Laxalt now gone from the club, and Hickey could be a solid option for Celtic.
The defender has two seasons worth of SPL football under his belt. And whilst he did not play often for Bologna last year, his sole campaign in Italy’s top-flight would have aided Hickey in his development as a player.
The price tag could be a sticking point, though. Whilst Hickey might be worth the almost £7m Bologna are demanding for the teenager, there is a chance that poor performances and injuries could derail the youngster’s projected career path.
