Report: Celtic to battle Leicester for £4million-rated Patrick Roberts

Celtic could reportedly battle Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City for the signature of Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts this summer.

, Premier League club Leicester want to move for the 22-year-old attacker and he is expected to be granted an exit by Manchester City this summer.

It is understood that he is valued at around £4million and manager Rodgers wants a reunion after previously working with him at Parkhead.

But the report details Celtic are also keen on re-signing the dazzling wide man.

Leicester are set to try pounce on the uncertainty around Celtic’s managerial position to try get to Roberts first.

TBR’s View:

£4million is a bargain price for Roberts given the state of the transfer market right now and it’s no surprise to hear Celtic want to bring him back to Scotland.

The left-footed wide man previously showed his qualities with the Bhoys and he would be an excellent addition this summer.

Roberts made 78 appearances across all competitions during his loan spells with Celtic, scoring 18 goals and supplying 26 assists in return.

It’s not quite worked out for him with Manchester City, but he’s already proven he can cut it in Scotland and would have no difficulty settling back into the group.
