Report: Celtic target Aleksandar Vukotic with Kris Ajer ‘bound’ to join Leicester City
that Celtic are targeting a move for Waasland-Beveren giant Aleksandar Vukotic ahead of the summer window – with Kristoffer Ajer ‘bound’ to join Leicester City this summer.
last week that Leicester are winning the race to sign 22-year-old Ajer, but face competition from Man City, Everton and Wolves – after the Norwegian’s agent told the Daily Record that Ajer would leave Celtic this summer.
Now, the new report claims Ajer is ‘bound’ to leave Celtic this summer with Leicester leading the charge – given former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is currently in charge of the Foxes. Now, Celtic have identified a replacement.
Indeed, La Soir claim 24-year-old Vukotic is being eyed as cover for Ajer. With Waasland-Beveren relegated from the Belgian top tier, 6ft 6in Vukotic is likely to leave and Celtic are ready to take advantage. The Serbian is contracted until 2023.

TBR’s view – Vukotic enormously unproven, but another Celtic gem?
Celtic have become renowned for bringing in unknown players from the depths of Europe’s lesser-known leagues and turning them into Premier League-standard stars. Ajer is a prime example of just that, as is Virgil van Dijk.
With Ajer set to leave, Celtic need a replacement and already needed a centre-back even before Ajer departs. Bringing Vukotic to Celtic could see the Hoops land a gem that may prove to be another top signing going forward.
