Celtic aren’t the only club interested in Toney. The claims that Bristol City and Brentford also watched the player who is valued at £9 million.

Peterborough are currently eighth in the League One table and will be desperate to hang onto their star man.

Toney is clearly enjoying playing regular first-team football right now and as a result, a move to Celtic perhaps wouldn’t be the best career choice.

Odsonne Edouard is the main striker at Parkhead with 17 goals during the 2019/20 campaign.

The Hoops have also just landed Patryk Klimala and he will almost certainly act as competition for the Frenchman.

Darragh MacAnthony has a proud history of gaining significant profit on players at London Road.

, Toney signed from Newcastle for £650,000. Although he will want to keep him for now, if the club does sell him for £9 million would once again be a masterstroke from the owner.

Edouard is flying so it would seem silly to go anywhere right now and play second fiddle.

Eventually, he could be a Celtic Park hit, however.

Toney is quick, powerful and comes alive in the penalty area. Scoring goals becomes a habit and he has the determination to be a massive hit in Scotland.

Neil Lennon has been treated with Edouard’s technically sound style of play and the Posh striker could be a sound replacement.
