Report: Celtic eye move for Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi
Celtic are reportedly interested in signing attacker Taiwo Awoniyi from Premier League champions Liverpool.
, the Scottish giants are eyeing a possible swoop for the 23-year-old and are on the lookout for potential strikers to replace Odsonne Edouard should he exit Parkhead.
The report claims that Liverpool’s youngster is valued at around £9million and he’s firmly on the radar of Neil Lennon’s side.
Awoniyi moved to Merseyside back in 2015 as a teenager and he’s spent the majority of his time away from the club on loan spells.
The Nigerian striker was with German top-flight side Mainz in the 2019/20 campaign, where he managed one goal in his 12 senior appearances.
He’s a quick forward that has shown he has potential and previously showed his quality with Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron, where he’s managed 21 goals and 10 assists in 47 games.

TBR’s View:
Celtic need to ensure they don’t lose talisman Edouard this summer and he’s going to be key in the club’s attempts of regaining their league title, but it’s smart to be on the search for a replacement as the club’s Champions League elimination is surely a dent to their hopes of keeping the Frenchman.
Awoniyi is a highly-rated striker that has taken the initiative to learn from loan spells away from Liverpool, but he’s yet to have a real breakthrough season that warrants a £9million valuation and it’s something Celtic should be wary of.
