Report: Celtic enter race for £3.5m-rated winger poised to move this summer

Celtic have reportedly entered the race to try sign £3.5million-rated Liel Abada, who plays for Israeli top-flight club Maccabi Petah Tikva.

, Celtic are now in the running for the 19-year-old’s signature this summer.

It is understood that the attacker is poised to leave his club this summer and that they’ll give a green light on a sale.

The report explains that clubs from both Belgium and France have already made offers for the teenager, but Celtic are now in the hunt for him.

Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou needs to bolster his options in wide areas, so he can use his preferred 4-3-3 formation at Parkhead.

Abada, who made his Israel senior international debut last month, is an exciting young wide player.

He’s a right-winger who scored 13 goals in 38 games across all competitions last season for Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Abada an intriguing Celtic target, but time is against them

Celtic have plenty of time remaining in the transfer window to complete signings, but that’s not the case if they want new player in to help with their European campaign.

The Scottish giants face FC Midtjylland in a weeks time in the Champions League second qualifying round first leg.

It would be great to add fresh faces for the European qualifying campaign, which commences before the domestic season begins.

Abada is available as his club will sell, but throwing any new signing straight into a starting XI is risky.

It’s so important for Postecoglou to try get off to a strong start in Europe.
