Report: Celtic agree terms with Ange Postecoglou

Celtic have verbally agreed personal terms with that the 55-year-old is set to be announced as the Hoops’ new boss in the next 72 hours.

Bhoys fans will be delighted to hear that the end is seemingly in sight. It has been a turbulent time for the club as they look for Neil Lennon’s permanent successor.

Of course, John Kennedy failed to stake any sort of claim for the position during his interim spell.

And talks with Eddie Howe broke down as an announcement seemingly loomed.

It had appeared for some time that Postecoglou could be the man to take the position. But subsequent links with Rui Faria may have concerned some, with reports claiming that tentative talks had been held.

However, a move for Postecoglou looks to be edging closer.

, a compensation package with Yokohama F. Marinos has been sorted. And personal terms have been verbally agreed.

Shock twist at Spurs may leave Celtic fans wary until Postecoglou appointment is confirmed

Celtic are, by no means, the only high-profile club looking for a new manager right now.

Tottenham Hotspur, for example, are continuing their efforts to replace Jose Mourinho.

It had appeared however, that their search may be reaching a conclusion. It was claimed last week that many at Spurs felt that Antonio Conte arriving was a done deal.

However, within hours, talks fell through.

So Celtic supporters may be wary of assuming that their search is almost over while no announcement has been made.

They have already missed out at the final hurdle when it was Howe seemingly on the verge of taking the role.

Postecoglou is yet to unite the fanbase. But one thing they can agree on is the fact that their managerial search continuing much longer would be hugely detrimental to their hopes of bouncing back next season.

Whisper it very quietly, but the wait may soon be over, at last.
