Report: Burnley’s bid for Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall in doubt

Nottingham Forest’s hopes of keeping Joe Worrall appear to have received a boost, that both Sheffield United and Burnley have been put off by his £10 million asking price.

Worrall appears to divide opinion amongst many Forest fans. But he largely enjoyed an excellent season for Sabri Lamouchi’s men last time out.

However, The Sun on Sunday has suggested that Forest are willing to let the centre-back leave this summer, as long as they receive a £10 million bid.

The report notes that both the Blades and Clarets want Worrall. However, neither is currently willing to offer the eight-figure fee that Forest are looking for.

TBR View: Forest will surely welcome chance to hold onto Worrall

As mentioned, Worrall can be a player who comes in for criticism. And some of it has been justified. His needless foul in the final moments of Forest’s clash with Derby last season led to an equaliser for the latter at the start of what proved to be a devastating run of form for Lamouchi’s side.

But Worrall was one of the players who played such a key role in getting Forest into the position to challenge for promotion in the first place.

And thus, Forest will surely be more than happy to hold onto him this summer if all bids fall short of their asking price.
