Report: Bundesliga outfit unlikely to re-sign Liverpool star Naby Keita
Red Bull Leipzig have informed Liverpool that they won’t be attempting to re-sign midfielder Naby Keita during the summer,
The Guinean performer has struggled to justify his price tag since arriving from the Bundesliga outfit back in 2018.
Several niggling injuries have robbed him of a prolonged run of games in Jurgen Klopp’s team, with Keita playing just 51 games for Liverpool.

With the Reds keen to strengthen their ranks in the summer, that could mean some players leaving and Keita is in danger of being one of those unfortunate players.
Despite the team’s dominance, Klopp will want to ensure his squad stays ahead of the curve when it comes to future successes and with that in mind, some squad reinforcements will be necessary.
A return to Leipzig looks unlikely though. The team firmly in the race for a Bundesliga title are baulking at the that Keita is paid and as a result, won’t be trying to take him back to the Red Bull Arena.
Keita proved a real fan favourite during his first spell with the German club. He signed from Red Bull Salzburg and made 71 appearances, scoring 17 goals and registering 15 assists.
Strategy
At 25, Keita goes against the grain for Leipzig. They have a proud policy of heavily focusing their recruitment on signing players under the age of 24.

Klopp has been linked with moves for Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and even Jadon Sancho during the latest round of transfer rumours.
If he holds a desire to sign all three then several outgoings are expected, with Klopp likely to avoid stockpiling players for the sake of it.
Keita could well leave Anfield in the summer but at this moment in time, a return to Leipzig looks desperately unlikely.
