Report: Brighton plot double raid for Rangers duo James Tavernier and Glen Kamara

Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly readying a double swoop for two Rangers players. , Brighton will launch bids for James Tavernier and Glen Kamara.

The Seagulls only just stayed in the Premier League last season and have since sacked Chris Hughton. New manager Graham Potter has moved from Swansea City and he wants to improve his squad for next season’s Premier League campaign.

He has identified Tavernier and Kamara as two key targets to strengthen his options. Both players have starred at Rangers but Brighton could test the Scottish club’s resolve with concrete bids.

Tavernier is the current Rangers captain but he is wanted by several English clubs. Southampton have been linked in the past (), as well as Leicester City () and Aston Villa ().

Brighton are hoping to win the race for the 27-year-old. He scored 17 goals and provided 20 assists from right-back last season and he could be Bruno Saltor’s replacement at The AMEX.

Kamara was supposed to join Rangers this summer but Steven Gerrard rushed through a deal. The ex-Arsenal midfielder moved from Dundee in January and has impressed.

With some commanding central midfield performances, the 23-year-old has caught the eye. Rangers might now face a battle to hold onto the Finland international if Brighton launch an official bid.
