Everton remain hopeful that Anthony Gordon could step up into the first-team fold next season, that Marcel Brands has been impressed by the 20-year-old since his loan move.
Gordon’s time at Preston North End does not appear to have played out how he would have hoped. The winger has played 10 times in the Championship, but has rarely started.

He is also yet to complete 90 minutes since arriving at Deepdale. And he has been an unused substitute for their last three league games.
Some Everton fans may be fearful of what his struggles may mean for his future. But it appears that the Toffees are still extremely optimistic.

The Athletic reports that Bernard is likely to leave Goodison Park this summer. And the report suggests that there is hope that Gordon will step up and become an important member of Carlo Ancelotti’s side, acting as cover for the first-team.
And despite his struggles, that Brands has been impressed by Gordon’s attitude while out on loan. It is noted that the Dutchman has been a regular at Deepdale since his switch.
Gordon is a player who has contributed for Everton this season. He contributed four assists across the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup before his departure.
And Ancelotti has previously shown that he is an admirer of the youngster, handing him several chances in the Premier League, including three this term.
So it should certainly come as little surprise should Gordon get the opportunity to really bounce back upon his return from his loan move this summer.
