Report: Bournemouth believe Aston Villa coach John Terry would be keen on job

Bournemouth believe that John Terry would be interested in taking over at the Vitality Stadium, that agreeing compensation with Aston Villa is not likely to be a problem.

The Cherries are looking for a new boss. Jason Tindall left following a run of four straight defeats. And the Villans assistant is reportedly in contention for the post.

Terry is looking for his first chance as a number one having worked with Dean Smith for a couple of years. And the Mail reports that Bournemouth are aware of the retired defender’s desire to become a manager.

Interestingly, the report adds that they believe that Terry would be interested in the position.

that agreeing compensation would not be an issue.

TBR View: Bournemouth likely to be an attractive option

Smith will have likely been under no illusions regarding what Terry’s future holds. He will have surely been aware that he will eventually leave Villa to kick off his own managerial career.

Of course, he could yet decide that Bournemouth is not the right club for him. And the Cherries may ultimately decide to look elsewhere.

But they are a club who did spend several years in the Premier League. And they are in a good position to make a swift return.

So if Terry is keen to take a high-profile job in the near future, perhaps he may feel that Bournemouth may be a very good place to start.
