Report: Borussia Dortmund join Celtic in race to sign Shon Weissman

that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Wolfsberger AC goal machine Shon Weissman, joining Celtic in the race to sign the powerhouse forward.

Weissman, 24, has attracted numerous admirers after netting a whopping 37 goals in 40 league and cup appearances for Austrian side Wolfsberger. Two of those 37 even came in the Europa League groups, against Roma and Gladbach.

last month that Celtic wanted to sign Israel international Weissman, with Odsonne Edouard being linked with a move to the Premier League. Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been linked.

Weissman has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Wolfsberger and now it appears Celtic are not the only big European side interested. Indeed, Dortmund want back-up to Erling Haaland and Weissman has been targeted.

TBR’s view – Dortmund or Celtic?

Weissman has some thinking to do. At Dortmund, he is joining one of the most exciting clubs in European football – with one of the biggest fanbases and best stadiums. He will hardly have to move far from Austria, either.

But he would be playing back-up. Haaland is regarded as one of the best young players in world football and he is hardly going to be overtaken by Weissman. If Edouard leaves Celtic, he would be first choice with the Hoops.

Dortmund as back-up, or Celtic as first-choice if Edouard departs? Tough decision.
