Report: Blackburn have discussed Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite as January loan option
Blackburn Rovers are hoping to bring in a new centre-back on loan this month to help them forge a promotion campaign in the Championship. A report is now claiming that an Everton player might be one of the options under consideration.
is reporting that Everton youngster Jarrad Branthwaite is being talked about as a potential option among the Blackburn hierarchy.
Blackburn, who already have one talented young Merseyside-based star on loan in the form of Harvey Elliott, are believed to be a big fan of Branthwaite’s with manager Tony Mowbray watching him in action for Everton’s under-23’s earlier this season.
However, any deal for Branthwaite will not be easy to do.

The teenager has been involved in the Everton first-team squad for recent fixtures and manager Carlo Ancelotti is known to be a big fan of his talents.
“As I’ve said before we have to be patient with him, but he’s a really good defender,” in July last year. “Good with the ball, always focused.
“I know his character, he’s really focused and humble. It’s a pleasure for us to have this young player.”
Everton only picked up Branthwaite last January in a £1 million deal from Carlisle United.
He has had a fast rise into Ancelotti’s plans but that has recently been exacerbated by injuries at full-back, seeing Everton utilise centre-back options in those positions and allowing for Branthwaite to be in the matchday squad.
A loan spell might be a perfect move for Everton, as it would give Branthwaite a chance to play regular football in the Championship.
But with Blackburn having other options on their list, it seems this is still an unlikely deal to happen this month.
