Report: Birmingham interested in signing Rafa Mir
According to the , Birmingham City are keen on signing Rafa Mir from Wolves this summer. Following Che Adams’ departure for Southampton, Pep Clotet is said to be keen to bolster the Blues’ goalscoring options.
Mir joined Wolves from Valencia in January 2018, but he has barely featured for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side since. He spent last season on loan with Las Palmas in the second tier of Spanish football. The 22-year-old enjoyed plenty of game time with Las Palmas, and notched seven goals for the club.
However, Mir seems no closer to the first team at Molineux, and should be moved on again this summer, either on a loan or permanent basis.

St Andrew’s Stadium would be an ideal destination, from Mir’s perspective. A spell with the Blues would offer the Spain under-21 international the chance to prove his worth at Championship level and gain more experience of English football.
However, Birmingham City themselves should be looking for a more experienced and prolific striker. Adams bagged 22 goals for them last summer, that is a huge shortfall that needs to be made up in the squad this summer. It would be a massive gamble to rely upon Mir to fill Adams’ boots.
