Report: Billionaire owner ‘releases millions’ for club to beat Manchester City in blockbuster race
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly given the west London side the money to sign Manchester City target Erling Haaland.
, the Russian billionaire ‘releases millions’ for the reigning UEFA Champions League holders to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.
City are also very keen on the 20-year-old striker, with the English champions retaining an interest in Haaland for months.
The Blues want to sign a new striker with Timo Werner failing to impress in his debut season in England. And Haaland has emerged as the favourite for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

City are also eager to add a centre-forward to their ranks this summer. Club legend Sergio Aguero departed the club at the end of last season.
As things stand, City just have one natural striker in the senior team in the form of Gabriel Jesus.
And although Dortmund remain adamant they won’t sell Haaland this summer, the Manchester giants could be forced into the blockbuster race for the attacker because of Chelsea.

Indeed, the Blues are eager to build from last season’s European winning season. And winning the league title will do just that.
But for City, they will have to do everything in their power to beat Chelsea to Haaland, who could define which club rules the Premier League for years to come depending on who signs the attacking phenom.
