Report: Bernd Leno close to sealing Fulham move after Arsenal decision
Bernd Leno is close to sealing a move from Arsenal to Fulham, that a deal worth £8 million is nearing completion.
Leno has been expected to leave the Emirates for several months. He lost his place as number one early on last season. And Matt Turner’s move to North London was expected for some time before it was confirmed.

Reports claimed that the Germany international had said goodbye to many around the Arsenal training ground ahead of the summer break. However, he did end up returning with no deal agreed.
And Arsenal have, perhaps surprisingly, had to work hard to move the 30-year-old off the books. Reports on Monday claimed that they had dropped their asking price to £8 million to help pave the way towards a potential move to Fulham.

And it seems to have worked. that a deal is now close. Leno is keen to stay in London. And he is likely to be Fulham’s number one ahead of their top-flight return.
Leno close to Fulham move
The move for Turner highlighted that Arsenal knew that it would be unsustainable to keep Leno as backup to Aaron Ramsdale. He is simply too good to not play regularly at the highest level. Mikel Arteta has previously described him as ‘‘.
The Gunners would have surely chosen to hold onto the former Bayer Leverkusen man had he been content to be Ramsdale’s understudy.
The move potentially adds to the pressure on both Ramsdale and Turner.
There is absolutely no question that Ramsdale enjoyed a phenomenal first season with Arsenal. Meanwhile, Turner is an USMNT international. He is a very capable goalkeeper.
But Ramsdale is still young and learning. So if Leno impresses at Craven Cottage, some Arsenal fans may start to wonder if they were too hasty in letting him go.
